Feeding Puppies with Inukshuk

Start strong. Grow steady.

Why Inukshuk Works for Puppies

Puppies grow fast, their bodies need dense, balanced nutrition to build muscle, bone, and brain health. Inukshuk 26/16 and Marine 26/16 are AAFCO-approved for All Life Stages, meaning they meet the standards for growth, reproduction, and maintenance.

With a consistent formula and no fillers, you can feed the same food from weaning through adulthood without stomach upset or frequent brand changes.

Feeding Schedule by Age

Age Meals per Day Notes
6–12 weeks 3–4 Small, frequent meals keep energy even
3–6 months 3 Monitor stool and weight weekly
6–12 months 2 Transition toward an adult pattern

Feed at regular times each day. Keep portions measured, puppies don’t need heaping scoops. Always provide lots of fresh water.

Transitioning to Inukshuk

If your puppy is switching from another food, blend gradually over seven days:
75/25 → 50/50 → 25/75 → 100% Inukshuk.
If your breeder already fed Inukshuk, continue the same formula for at least one full bag before considering a change.

Portion & Weight Tips

Start with the chart on your bag or download the full (Puppy feeding guide)

  • 1 level cup of 26/16 = 130 g / 4.6 oz.

  • Adjust by 5–10 % based on body condition — ribs easy to feel but not visible.

  • Re-check weight and stool weekly; small adjustments make a big difference.

Stool & Digestion

Healthy puppies on Inukshuk produce small, firm stools — a sign of high digestibility.

  • Soft stool: too much food or a rushed transition.

  • Dry stool: add a splash of warm water and confirm hydration.

When to Move Up a Formula

Once your pup reaches 12 months, they can transition to Inukshuk 30/25, Marine 30/25, or 32/32 if their energy demands increase, or if they need to gain or maintain healthy weight.

  • Active adults — dogs training, hunting, or working regularly, benefit from the added calories and fat.

  • Dogs needing extra body condition can use these higher-energy formulas to safely increase weight without overfeeding.

  • Companion dogs with steady energy can stay on 26/16 or Marine 26/16 for balanced maintenance.

All formulas share the same ingredient base, so switching is smooth and easy on digestion.
