How to Transition to Inukshuk

Keep digestion steady while switching foods.

Why Transition Gradually

Inukshuk is nutrient-dense and highly digestible, dogs need smaller portions compared to most foods. Changing too quickly can cause loose stool or temporary digestive upset. A gradual transition gives the body time to adjust to the richer nutrition and higher energy content.

The 7-Day Transition Plan

Day Old Food Inukshuk
1–2 75% 25%
3–4 50% 50%
5–6 25% 75%
7+ 0% 100%

Transition Tips

  • Mix both foods thoroughly in the same bowl.

  • Stick to your dog’s normal feeding schedule.

  • If stools stay firm and energy is consistent, continue increasing Inukshuk portions as planned.

Stool Quality as Feedback

  • Firm, compact stool → transition is on track.

  • Soft or loose stool → slow down; stay at the current mix for 1–2 extra days.

  • Hard stool → ensure fresh water is available at all times.

Stool is your best daily indicator of portion accuracy and tolerance.

After the Switch

  • Continue with the chosen Inukshuk formula for at least one full bag before making further changes.

  • Weigh your cup once to learn how many grams it holds, it helps prevent quiet overfeeding.

  • Adjust portions by 5–10% as body condition changes.
